STOP PRESS, a website that is printed, not posted.
A newspaper website template for newsletters, local papers, magazines, club bulletins and writers. Stories come out in editions, the front page sets itself like a broadsheet, and the paper changes with the time of day. For Framer and for plain HTML.
What it is
A newspaper, not a blog with a serif.
STOP PRESS publishes in editions. The newest edition is the front page; older ones go on the rack as back issues. The front page is set the way a compositor fills a broadsheet: a lead story with its columns, the stories beside it, rows of features and briefs, the day in numbers, classifieds and corrections. Whatever you put in, rows close up and columns end level.
Readers switch between four paper stocks (newsprint, bone, night and tabloid) with one click, and the paper can follow the time of day: newsprint by day, bone in the evening, a night edition after nine. Any photo can be printed as fine black-and-white halftone. When a story is corrected, readers press Show the edits and see the red pencil. The paper is quiet by default; headlines cast in hot metal and photos that develop as they scroll in are there when you want them.
In the HTML edition, every story can be shared as a newspaper clipping, and the whole front page prints as a real broadsheet or saves as a PDF.

What's inside
Everything in the template
Editions and back issues
Stories come out in numbered editions. The newest is the front page; the rest stand on a newsstand rack with their own front pages.
A front page that sets itself
Lead, seconds, feature rows and briefs. Short rows close up, columns end level, and spare drawings fill any gap.
Four paper stocks
Newsprint, bone, night and tabloid, following the reader's clock or their choice, with one accent colour for the whole paper.
Printed pictures
Any photo as fine black-and-white halftone, with dot size and tone controls, and photos that develop as they scroll in.
Show the edits
Corrections marked in the text appear in red pencil when readers ask, with a timeline under the story and a corrections page.
The wire and the Morgue
A teleprinter ticker you can tear off and share, and an archive filed in envelopes, searched from an index card.
Share and print
In the HTML edition, every story shares as a newspaper clipping. The front page prints as a broadsheet or saves as a PDF. RSS feed included.
Every page a paper needs
Stories, sections, writers, staff and standards, corrections, home delivery sign-up and a 404 page that was pulped.
Accessible and fast
Lighthouse 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO. Every effect has an off switch, and reduced motion gives a still page.

Questions
Frequently asked
Who is STOP PRESS for?
Anyone who publishes regularly and wants their site to feel like a real paper: newsletters, local and community papers, school and club bulletins, small magazines, and writers who publish in issues.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not for the Framer edition: stories, editions, sections and writers live in the Framer CMS and every effect has its settings in the properties panel. The HTML edition builds from text files with one command and can be edited in the browser with Pages CMS, a free editor; its setup file is included.
Where does the HTML edition run?
Anywhere that serves static files: Netlify, Cloudflare, GitHub Pages or your own server. It has no framework and no dependencies, and the fonts are self-hosted.
Are the stories and pictures in the demo real?
The Port Avery Courier is invented: the town, its people and its stories. Every picture in it is AI-generated and labelled so. It is there to show the template working; you replace it with your own.
What licence do I get?
A single-use licence: one website per purchase, your own or a client's. You may change everything; you may not resell or share the template files.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Email [email protected] within 14 days of buying and we will fix the problem or refund you.
